CAN AM
CAN AM
The Can-am ATV and UTV lineup has been at the forefront of technology and advancements over the last few years. Their power and performance has given them a definite strong-hold in the ATV and UTV market with some of the most powerful ATVs ever built dating back to the introduction of the 800 Outlander in 2006. When you grab a fist full of throttle on a Can-am ATV you feel like you’ve grabbed onto the fins of a shark and are fighting for your life to hold on. The power these machines make is addictive, and more fun than you can shake a stick at. But unfortunately Can-am has always had a weak link in their driveline and that’s always been the clutch. Dating back to the Bombardier Quest ATV, the primary clutch in every Can-am ATV and UTV was built as the shock absorber in the driveline. The clutch was built to, and intentionally meant to slip the belt under loads, in order to reduce the shock load on the drive train in order to save driveline parts. You may not realize it with stock tires since they are so small, but every time you grab the throttle and pin it against the throttle stop from a dead punch, the clutch will slip in order to reduce the shock load to the driveline. Giving the clutch a load, will always result in the clutch slipping the belt to reduce the load regardless of whether you are trying to load the machine on the trailer, pulling big tires thru a mud-hole, trying to yank a stump out of the ground, or whatever your daily activities put in front of you. The stock primary was meant to slip under loads, and the more load you put on it, the more it slips. We see this issue enhanced significantly when you put larger tires on the machine, weight the machine down with stereo and coolers and large tires. Even if your daily routine is checking fence lines at slow speed, trying to idle along at slow speeds will also cause the clutch to slip. Should it do it, NO.... Does it do it, YES.... So back in 2008 we sought after a solution and were successful in figuring out all of the weak links in the Can-am machines and worked on each one of them to perfect the clutch in order to allow you to do whatever you want with the machine and eliminate the belt issues. Depending on your model, and riding style, and tire size, we will change certain things in the clutch, and possibly change the whole clutch depending on what you need for your riding style. Since each machine is different, and each rider and his needs are different, we offer many different combinations of clutches and clutch setups to help give you all the power of that Rotax engine without all the belt issues you are plagued with from the factory. We have been lucky enough to be so successful with our programs that the Can-am race department approached us many years ago in order to help them and their racers in many different aspects of racing. We are happy that we are able to help GNCC racers and Desert racers and ATV Mud racers win races in nearly every weekend of competition. Our testing takes us all across the United States from California to Florida testing our setups in each condition, with each style of rider, in order to figure out what works best in each situation. We use this knowledge to build the best setup for our racers, and help develop the best setup for regular average Joes as well. It doesn’t matter if you are climbing rocks in the mountains, checking cattle fences, running full throttle thru mud holes, conquering the desert or dunes, we can assure you that one of our setups specifically tuned for your riding style and your needs will be the absolute best setup that money can buy. Everything from slow cruising to full throttle, we’ve got it figured out and we can harness all that power you have and put it to the ground better than anyone else.
